A HOUSE IN THE HILLS II

This another painting that is part of my new Series of work called "A Forever Home" which began with the first Abstract Collage that I did with the same name.  This was painted together in partnership with another with the same Title as a possible Diptych. (Note: The colors match in the actual paintings side by side)

The theme of a "Forever Home" has struck a sentimental chord within me as well as one of longing.  As all of my paintings, these come from my heart and this one is no different.

The process of creating these pieces was incredibly enjoyable and challenging at times as I don't normally paint this way, but that is also what made it so gratifying.  I loved creating the Tissue Paper Collage elements that went into this, hand drawing and handwriting them before layering them into and on top of the paint, creating depth and interest, so that wherever you look, you find something new and different.  Yes, there are even song lyrics hidden between the layers.  I hope you enjoy discovering what lies beneath and in these layers as much as I loved painting them.
